Bad defaults led to edge scrolling be nonfunctional on ALPS touchpads. This is
fixed by applying model-specific defaults.

If configured in the xorg.conf, synaptics devices were added twice.
Configuration on the hotplugged device did not have an effect, causing user
confusion. Fixed by preventing the second device from being added if the device file is already grabbed.
