#12789 Broken fork
Closed: Fixed a day ago by jnsamyak. Opened 23 days ago by yselkowitz.

  • Describe the issue
I have been unable to get a working fork of the NetworkManager package. After being unable to submit a working PR, I deleted my existing fork (seemingly successfully) then tried creating a new one. https://src.fedoraproject.org/fork/yselkowitz/rpms/NetworkManager is stuck in an unready state and I am unable to do anything with it.

  • When do you need this? (YYYY/MM/DD)
    2025/06/25

  • When is this no longer needed or useful? (YYYY/MM/DD)
    N/A

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?
Unable to submit PRs to the NetworkManager package.

Hey, I'll take a look at it today, I tried deleting the fork from my end, but it seems to be disabled; I'll check if I can spun things around internally.

I think I have fixed this. The fix is:

login to pkgs01 as root
pagure-admin read-only --user yselkowitz rpms/NetworkManager --ro false

This unsets the ro flag and the fork can be used.

So when you did that, I then deleted the fork in order to try again, and got the following error from fedpkg fork:

Could not execute do_distgit_fork: The following error occurred while creating a new fork:
Did not manage to rebase this pull-request

And my fork is in the same broken state as last time. My attempted PRs from the previous fork were closed already.

Lets actually track this in https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issue/12622

since it seems like a infra problem that pretty widespread.

Please retry the fork now.

Was able to delete the fork, but fedpkg fork failed in the same way.

ok, there's something further wrong with this package and forks.

Another case which might be more similar to the other ticket and not this one is my (attempted) fork of python-spdx-license-list. Yes, it's my package, but I want to onboard packit and the usual workflow for that is with a PR of my own first.

deleted that one, please try a refork.

Those all have missing git repos, NetworkManager seems to create a empty repo and then fail mirroring commits to it.

Thanks, python-spdx-license-list is working now.
