#12748 Conflicting OpenH264 package issues
Closed: Duplicate a month ago by kevin. Opened a month ago by sbaars.

Installing openh264.x86_64 followed by noopenh264.i686 results in a conflict:

  - installed package openh264-2.4.1-2.fc42.x86_64 conflicts with openh264 provided by noopenh264-2.5.0-2.fc42.i686 from fedora
  - installed package openh264-2.4.1-2.fc42.x86_64 obsoletes noopenh264 < 1:0 provided by noopenh264-2.5.0-2.fc42.i686 from fedora
  - package noopenh264-2.5.0-2.fc42.i686 from fedora conflicts with openh264 provided by openh264-2.4.1-2.fc42.x86_64 from fedora-cisco-openh264
  - package openh264-2.4.1-2.fc42.x86_64 from fedora-cisco-openh264 obsoletes noopenh264 < 1:0 provided by noopenh264-2.5.0-2.fc42.i686 from fedora

This has been the case since at least Fedora 40 (I didn't test further back), but was probably never observed in practice. However, due to a change to the gstreamer dependencies in Fedora 42 (and Rawhide), this is now also observed when installing gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free.x86_64 gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free.i686 followed by gstreamer1-plugin-libav.x86_64 gstreamer1-plugin-libav.i686. This is a common thing to do when installing Wine dependencies.

  - package gstreamer1-plugin-libav-1.26.1-1.fc42.i686 from updates requires libavcodec.so.61, but none of the providers can be installed
  - package gstreamer1-plugin-libav-1.26.1-1.fc42.i686 from updates requires libavcodec.so.61(LIBAVCODEC_61), but none of the providers can be installed
  - package gstreamer1-plugin-libav-1.26.0-1.fc42.i686 from fedora requires libavcodec.so.61, but none of the providers can be installed
  - package gstreamer1-plugin-libav-1.26.0-1.fc42.i686 from fedora requires libavcodec.so.61(LIBAVCODEC_61), but none of the providers can be installed
  - package libavcodec-free-7.1.1-3.fc42.i686 from fedora requires libopenh264.so.7, but none of the providers can be installed

I think this is just a duplicate of https://pagure.io/releng/issue/12473

The openh264 repos are not multilibed... so it's a bad time if you are trying to install i686 ones...
