#1271 Fedora 12 Schedule
Closed: Fixed None Opened 15 years ago by poelstra.

I recently got the Fedora 11 schedule into good shape in TaskJuggler and it didn't take much effort to generate a Fedora 12 version. [[BR]]

I'm creating this ticket as a follow-up to the discussion that happened around Fedora 11 here https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/ticket/843 and on the Fedora mailing lists. The outcome of that discussion was to have a shorter Fedora 12 and get us back to the ~ October 31 /May 1 release cycle.[[BR]]

My intent in designing this schedule was to mirror as much as possible the testing cycles we have found to work well in past releases while shortening the initial development and feature submission time. It has a GA Date of 2009-10-27.

This was discussed at the 2009-05-04 release engineering meeting. It was approved with the following changes:

  • the alpha milestone was removed entirely (no shifting of dates)
  • due to conferences such as the Red Hat Summit, LinuxCon, and Linux Plumber's Conference, each milestone from 'Final freeze: development' (2009-09-15) should be shifted out one week. This pushes GA from 2009-10-27 to 2009-11-03.
