#12534 Stalled EPEL package: python-pytest-subtests
Closed: Fixed 23 days ago by churchyard. Opened 23 days ago by music.

  • Describe the issue

The bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2334216 meets the conditions for a stalled EPEL package request.

  • I opened the issue on 2024-12-26.
  • A week went by with no action.
  • I restated that I was willing to co-maintain the package in EPEL and set a needinfo flag for the maintainer.
  • Another two weeks passed with no response.

Per the policy for Stalled EPEL Requests, I’m now requesting commit privilege on this project in order to branch, build, and maintain it in EPEL10.

  • When do you need this? (YYYY/MM/DD)

Let’s say 2025/01/23. This is the last missing dependency for branching Pydantic in EPEL10.

  • When is this no longer needed or useful? (YYYY/MM/DD)

Always useful for the foreseeable future.

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?

Pydantic cannot be branched in EPEL10, or it can only be branched by running significantly fewer tests.

After all that, it turns out that python-pytest-subtests is in CRB, but the version is rather old and didn’t satisfy the version bounds in my dependencies, and I failed to investigate closely enough to notice that it was present at all. I apologize for going through this entire process without figuring that out. I will make things work with the package that is already available.

I reverted the changes I made to the package then.
