#12486 Stalled EPEL package: gpsbabel
Closed: Fixed 2 months ago by patrikp. Opened 2 months ago by tdawson.

  • Describe the issue
gpsbabel is a stalled EPEL package.
Per the EPEL stalled package policy - https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/epel/epel-policy/#stalled_epel_requests - I have contacted the maintainer, twice, and waited the appropriate amount of time.
    https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2325989
I am requesting tdawson be given commit permissions for gpsbabel so that I might branch and build it in epel10.

  • When do you need this? (YYYY/MM/DD)
    2024/12/02

  • When is this no longer needed or useful? (YYYY/MM/DD)
    N/A

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?
gpsbabel is a runtime dependency of gdal, which is a runtime dependency of opencv. There are many multimedia programs that depend on opencv. Not having gpsbabel blocks them all.
