#12408 Lenovo: F40 official iso for AMD platforms preload
Closed: Fixed a month ago by mpearson. Opened 2 months ago by mpearson.

  • Describe the issue
We need an updated F40 live respin that we can use for the 2024 AMD platforms preload to enable the Wifi 7 component. We've been waiting for this fix to land:

FEDORA-2024-7e78a5fc0a (linux-firmware-20241017-1.fc40) has been pushed to the Fedora 40 stable repository.

Can you let me know when the next respin is planned? There isn't a huge urgency on this one as we're also waiting for a UMIS SSD fix (in BIOS FW), so as long as there is a re-spin planned in the next week or two, happy to wait for that (but it would also be good to get this into the QA test team)

Once the respin is done, can it be moved to the archive folder please? (https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/live-respins-archive/40/)

Note - I'm on PTO, so I may be slow replying to updates than normal :)

  • When do you need this? (YYYY/MM/DD)
    2024/10/31

  • When is this no longer needed or useful? (YYYY/MM/DD)
    N/A

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?
Unable to offer full configuration for Fedora preload on the 2024 AMD Thinkpads.

You will definitely want the linux-firmware-20241017-2.fc40 build

The latest respin was done last Friday, so the next respin will be next Friday (November 1). Is that fine for you, @mpearson?

I'll check with the QA team's plans and update. Thanks :)

Confirmed we're good to wait for Nov 1st as we're gated by the UMIS SSD issue anyway.

Hey @mpearson,

Do you think we can close this ticket now? Or do you see any issues?

We can close - many thanks for the image.
Mark
