#12162 packages orphaned for 6+ weeks are not being retired
Closed: It's all good 7 months ago by decathorpe. Opened 7 months ago by decathorpe.

  • Describe the issue

There is a number of packages that have been orphaned for 6+ weeks:
https://a.gtmx.me/orphans/orphans.txt

It looks like no package retirements have been done since about 3-4 weeks ago.

  • When do you need this? (YYYY/MM/DD)

2024-08-06 - the f41 branch point, to avoid unmaintained packages getting branched for f41

  • When is this no longer needed or useful? (YYYY/MM/DD)

N/A

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?

Unmaintained packages remain in Fedora.

This is my fault. I'll send the packages report to devel later today and then process the retirements early next week.

Thank you! I wasn't sure whose responsibility it was to actually retire packages after 6 weeks, so I filed a ticket here.

The packages report has been sent. The devel-announce copy needs approval from an infra member.

For the record, any provenpackager can do this, if they want to.

I have processed the latest set of retirements. I apologize for the delay.

Thank you! I consider this ticket moot now, so I'll close it.
