#11995 continue running need-rebuild.py for longer weeks
Closed: Fixed 2 months ago by jnsamyak. Opened 2 months ago by petersen.

In the "old days" scripts/need-rebuild.py was kept running longer after the Mass Rebuild.
I would like to request going back to that - it doesn't have to be hourly, at least daily
until the Beta release perhaps.

I used to have more cycles for fixing FTBFS quickly, but lately it often takes me many weeks.
After branching it gets even harder to keep track of: yes there are the FTBFS bugs but
they also seem not to get always closed promptly if I am not mistaken.

Would running them daily say until Beta be feasible?
Could that be done for F40 now and going forward

  • When is this no longer needed or useful?

Hi @petersen

I can discuss this tomorrow in our releng weekly call, or today as I get someone to discuss this with, it should not be a trouble to run this hopefully!
Meanwhile, as @humaton mentioned in IRC, this can be run be generated as per need: https://pagure.io/releng/blob/main/f/scripts/need-rebuild.py

Hi @petersen!

We discussed this in our releng weekly call, and agreed that we could keep this running as per the request; I re-ran the script whose output can be find in the same link: https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/mass-rebuild/f40-need-rebuild.html

If you have any other queries/concerns, please let us know; Thanks!
