This request wants to skip bugzilla validation! @humaton @ignatenkobrain @jnsamyak @kevin @limb @mohanboddu @patrikp @petersen @releng-bot @tibbs could you check if this is correct? If yes, please respond to this ticket with 'valid' comment
Hello, please create a repository for python3.13 - this is a new version of an already existing package. We want to import the git history of the previous package - python 3.12 into the repository. Please skip the initial commit, don't add README.md so that we can cleanly import the history. The review of the initial package will be done via Pull Request to the package repository. Thank you.
fyi: @churchyard
Note that the repo creation is automated; we don't have the ability to skip initial commits or anything like that. Since you are requesting special handling and are not in the maintainer list of the existing python packages, I'll hold off acking this.
Hi, I requested the repo using:
fedpkg request-repo python3.13 --exception --no-initial-commit
where --no-initial-commit should do exactly that. I hope this is indeed a possibility that exists.
--no-initial-commit
Regarding my involvement with Python 3.13, I'll be handling the integration to Fedora 41 with @churchyard. I'm listed on the Fedora Change about this process: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Python3.13. I'm also a part of python-packagers-sig and a member of python-maint team. This is the first time I'm doing it, so my name doesn't appear directly with the package, but the request is as legit as can be.

python-maint
Hey, I can confirm this is a legitimate request. As @ksurma mentioned above, she is a python-maint team member and she will be working on Python 3.13 in Fedora.
ack as well
I confirm that Karolina is part of the Red Hat Python maintenance team and she will take care of Python 3.13.
