The package is being created so that multiple versions of the same package can coexist in the distribution (or coexist between EPEL and RHEL). The package MUST be properly named according to the naming guidelines and MUST NOT conflict with all other versions of the same package.
Upstream cairomm 1.16.0 provides a new API/ABI series 1.16, which is parallel-installable with the older 1.0 API/ABI. This package will provide the old API/ABI series when the main cairomm package is updated to the new API/ABI.
Initial build of cairomm1.0 and updated cairomm will be done in a side tag to provide a multi-build update, after all known dependent packages are ready. Dependent packages using pkg-config will not need any changes; others will need their BR changed. No dependent package rebuilds should be required.
