It could be nice to include pass/fail information about each phase in the message bus messages published at each step.

Did it pass or fail? You have to look at the global log to figure it out.
This could be used to start pre-emptive testing of composes on their repository before the images are done building. Or to start testing some images before others are done.
This is a reasonable request. How would you imagine the results reported if there are more of them? For example in the linked buildinstall case: what if it works for Everything but fails for Workstation?
