It would be nice if the pkgdb search would search the subpackage names too.
Just now I was trying to find the python-magic package and I couldn't find it for the life of me. Then I realized pkgdb was only searching main package names and I figured out I needed the 'file' package. :-)
This is not possible in pkgdb. Think of pkgdb has a tool/database that handles the git repo containing the spec file for each of our packages. Sub-package do not get their own git repo, so pkgdb does not know about sub-packages, worse, since the sub-packages are created at build time, pkgdb cannot know about them :)
If you want to search for sub-packages I would advice relying on https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages which itself relies on data from yum and therefore know about packages and sub-packages.
