#20 Unsolicited e-mail notifications (new uploads and commits)
Closed: Invalid None Opened 9 years ago by mcrha.

Similar to ticket #10, I'm still receiving email notifications for packages I have commit rights for, but I do not have watch-commit, neither watch-new-source-uploads. Please see ticket #10 for my reasons why I have commit rights, but I'm not interested in anything else.

Regarding new source uploads and commits in packages, I will notice such changes just before any commit I would do, because git will not let me push my changes when there would be any on the server already, thus the notifications are useless for me most of the time, only filling my Inbox and making busy mail servers with eaten bandwidth.

Please revert back to previous behaviour, where the user was able to influence what the system does in more fine-grained way. I spot only these three cases (counting ticket #10 too), but if there are more which didn't stroke yet, please fix them as well.

Having commit rights doesn't mean the "right-owner" needs to be notified about everything. Thank you for your understanding.

To which address are sent these messages?

Could you also tell us which email you are receiving?

1.11 got released w/o this bug fixed as I still don't know which email is being sent that shouldn't :)

Do you still have the problem?

Without more information, I cannot do anything and since nobody else complained about it, I'm closing this ticket for now.
