#5372 Activities around open Issues and Backlog
Opened a year ago by wombelix. Modified a year ago

Hi everyone,
as some of you noticed already, I started to work on the open issues to lower the overall Backlog.

To learn more about me and my motivation, feel free to read this Mail that I send a few weeks ago to the pagure-devel Mailinglist.
In short: I think pagure is a great software and worth to support, I'm here to help.

If I close an Issue, that's nothing personal or a judgment of it's relevance / importance, I take a look on the history, what details are provided, was a discussion about it, any agreement / decision how to move forward, do I have the impression that it fits into the idea of pagure to be a lightweight git forge and such things.

I understand that some of you might be confused, but try to see it from the perspective that I just try to figure out what of the topics are still a thing and to put them on milestones for a next minor and major release.

If you think something was closed but we still need it, that's not a problem, just provide Feedback, an Issue can always re-opened. There are not that much labels available when closing tickets, sometimes "Won't fix" doesn't 100% fit but it's still the best option to choose, but that's not set in stone, it's just a label.

Also I invite everyone to be pro-active, take a look on pagure Issues you created in the past, test it with the latest version, provide an update to let us know about your thoughts how to proceed.

I'm just a motivated contributor, the final decision is always up to @pingou as Maintainer, but I come from a "Don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness" culture. I do what I think it's in the best interest of the project I contribute to and what I do, like closing very old issues, always easy to undo in case I was wrong.

Cheers
Dominik

Keep being motivated like this and the final decision will lay with you and Neal
soon enough ;)

Thanks for the (early) spring cleaning!

Note: I do work on pagure regularly anymore, the project definitely needs a lead
who has the time for it. I'm always happy to assist and provide context, help,
wherever I can though.
