#5344 Confusion between pagure.io and src.fedoraproject.org
Opened a year ago by matthickford. Modified 9 months ago

I'm super confused between https://src.fedoraproject.org/browse/projects/ and https://pagure.io/browse/projects/ . It would be helpful to explain the difference somewhere

these are two pagure instances, one for "regular" open source projects, the other is used on top of Fedora's dist-git which is the collection of git repositories underlying each and every (RPM, containers & so on) packages built in Fedora

Thank you for providing additional information about the two Pagure instances. It appears that there are two separate instances of Pagure being used for different purposes within the open source community:

Regular Open Source Projects: This instance of Pagure is used for hosting "regular" open source projects. It provides a platform for version control, issue tracking, and collaboration. Developers can create repositories, manage code, and track issues related to their projects.

Fedora's Dist-Git: The second instance of Pagure is used specifically on top of Fedora's dist-git. Dist-git is the collection of Git repositories that underlies the packaging process for RPMs, containers, and other packages in the Fedora distribution. This Pagure instance likely integrates with the specific workflow and tools used in Fedora's packaging process.

Pagure is a Git-based collaborative platform that offers features for managing code repositories, issue tracking, and more. It is designed to support open source projects and foster collaboration within development communities.

If you have any specific questions or need further information about using Pagure or its functionalities, please let me know, and I'll be happy to assist you. https://www.mymilestonecard.biz/
