#3465 A way to list orphaned and retired packages
Closed: Won't Fix a year ago by wombelix. Opened 5 years ago by kevin.

Right now on src.fedoraproject.org we can list all the packages with a point of contact of the 'orphan' user. However, that includes everything thats orphaned and everything thats retired. We can't see just orphaned packages that may be up for retirement soon.

It would be nice if we could perhaps expose a json at extras for all the retired packages and one for all the just orphaned packages. This would allow people to look at the jest orphaned to see if there's any they want to take over.

Let me know if you want me to refile this somewhere else for src.fedoraproject.org...

It is currently more in PDC than in pagure, but sure, we can script that and put
it in extras.

I tend to track these tickets in the infra tracker but no worries :)

Could we use project tags for this purpose?

There is currently no ability to search on project tags in browse, but that can be rectified too :D

Retirement is handled on a per-branch basis and in PDC. Packages can only be orphaned in all branches at once in Pagure AFAIK.

That's correct :)

@pingou @ngompa this request is very src.fp.o specific, my feeling is we can close it now that things moving to gitlab from a fedora perspective, what's your view?

Pagure for sure won´t know the 'retire' status and the 'orphan' status could be
queried from the current API or by using directly one of the json file at:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/extras/

The move to gitlab is still in limbo (to the best of my knowledge), but based on
what I've said above, I think we could close it.
Worst case, it would likely be more a pagure-dist-git RFE than a pure pagure one

Thanks @pingou, going to close this one for now.
