#1794 Need not show 'Created by' in 'Opened issues' section of 'My issues'
Closed: Invalid 5 years ago Opened 7 years ago by cep.

In /user/<user>/issues, it's obvious that the issues listed under Opened Issues are the ones creared by <user>. So it's superfluous to show that column.

This should be an easy fix. Proposed: Remove the Created by column in the Opened Issues table.

What we have now:

What would be nice to have:

@cep i think i like it, the way it is :)

Also, we have two sections on that page, one is "Opened Issues" and "Assigned Issues" and if a <user> opens an issue and also is been assigned to the same issue, the issue is been displayed in both the sections. Where as if we implement, what you are proposing then it would become wierd, no ?

As @rahulbajaj mentioned, there are two sections on this page: one for issues you created, and one for issues that are assigned to you. So "created by" is not always going to be "you". This column should not be removed IMO.

Based on the discussion above, I'm inclined to close this ticket as invalid, anyone against?

I second the proposal.
On clicking the user in 'created by' section,

1) the created by section shall be hidden, since it is not relevant now
2) In heading , 'Issues created by' can replace the existing heading with a reset link .

This makes it look clean :)

Similar can be done for Assigned to column

@rahulbajaj @mreynolds There are two tables, and on the Opened issues table, the Created by field is always going to be <user>. This makes that column superfluous.

Similarly, as @vibhcool pointed out, in the Assigned issues table, the Assigned to column is always going to be <user>, which makes it superfluous.

Overall, I feel that removing them will serve to reduce the visual clutter on the page.

I'm a little torn, I understand that we could remove one column on each table but leaving them both makes them more consistent, you know that one column on the first table is the same as on the second column.

So I'm still kinda inclined to not change this (and apparently no-one volunteered to do it).

This one is kinda moot now, since this page has been entirely redesigned to not use columns anymore.

Feel free to re-open if this this still an issue on the newly redesigned page.
