#1659 Allow starting PR/Issue ids from predefined value
Closed: Invalid 7 years ago Opened 7 years ago by praiskup.

As people are moving to pagure from github (or gitlab, or ..), some starting range of IDs can be already allocated (referenced from git-log) for the previous online git repo manager. Starting the issue number on pagure from scratch is unfortunate because there's clash.

Well, if you import your issues/PRs from github/fedorahosted to pagure, the id will not be restarted from scratch.

The issue would be if you open the project on pagure and on <forge> at the same time and let people open issues/PRs on both places.

By import you mean via pagure-importer? I've heard that is not working yet, so @clime was unable to use it while migrating copr from github to pagure.

It should be working, afaik it is. It is more tested from fedorahosted so there might be a few bugs laying around on the github backend but the basis is there and it should work.

Err: yes I meant pagure-importer :)

@pingou @praiskup, I think pagure-importer does not keep the issue number from a github import, issue.

I don't think that it would be difficult to add this since we have done it for fedorahosted. I will include this feature in the next pagure-importer release.

Let's close this ticket then since it is a pagure-importer issue and a ticket was opened for it.

Thanks @cverna :)
