#1408 Lack of end-user documentation
Closed: Fixed 8 years ago Opened 9 years ago by cwickert.

Before we can consider migrating from Trac to Pagure on fedorahosted.org, we should have proper end user documentation. Ticket management is not documented at all.

There are some things that are not intuitive or self explaining, e.g. having to click the "Edit" button after the ticket description in order to update the status. These things need to be documented properly.

There is some end-user documentation: https://docs.pagure.org/pagure/usage.html and I agree it could be improved, I would even say, it can always be improved!

The thing is, it's hard to document a tool when you're developing it as you know and what seems obvious to you isn't for others.

So if you would like to help on this documentation, it would be much appreciated.

I'm sorry, I don't have the time to help you with the documentation, I can only help gathering requirements from a user's POV.

The documentation is there, but I had to find it using google (!). Can you add a Help button on the web that will point to it?

@kparal like the Docs tab next to Overview?

Or did you mean an Help button in pagure itself that would be accessible in all the project? (maybe in the footer?)

Yes, this.

+1. I'm willing to work on this as well.
