Currently the way to create a group is by "My Public Profile" -> "Groups" -> "New Group". This is confusing. There should be a button, maybe in the user dashboard, similar to the "New project" button that is already there

I think this is an awesome idea, and the suggested location in the user dashboard is perfect.
One thing to note here when someone implements this is that the "New Project" button currently opens up in it's own page, while the "New Group" opens up in a modal. It would be good for consistency to have the new group funtionality to have it's own page also, rather than use the modal.

Hey, I wish to work on this bug :D
@rahulbajaj did you proceed further? And according to ryan's comment, you will have to make a diff page rather than the modal. The page would be similar to new project page and not modal.
new project
@vivekanand1101 thanks for helping me with this, yes i am on it :)
@pingou apparently when we click on 'create new group' a modal opens up. After that when we add the group name a page opens which looks like - http://img.susepaste.org/10318966
i have a few questions related to this- 1) Why is the create group page not like http://img.susepaste.org/14436912 , is there any specific reason behind this ? 2)Why are we using a modal? we can just open a page as we have in Create new Project. 3) while implementing https://pagure.io/pagure/issue/1227, if i add the '+(create group)' functionality on the dashboard then this page should open - http://img.susepaste.org/10318966 ?
@rahulank
1) no specific reason it likely was just never ported to bootstrap 2) and 3) did you read https://pagure.io/pagure/issue/1227#comment-4221 ?
