Would be helpful to have the current username shown on the top toolbar.
It could either be just text or a button that redirects to the user own dashboard.
@qazwsxedc clicking on pagure logo will take you to you dashboard . But the real design decision lies with @ryanlerch I think he wants to keep it minimalist hence he didn't put username there. But lets wait for him to have a say.
pagure logo
Yeah, i'd defineitly lean away from having it in the main topbar. The idea here is that the avatar should give enough glancable context to the user to see who is logged in.
That said, it probably won't hurt to show the username as the top item in the dropdown with maybe a "logged in as: username".
added the username as an element in the dropdown in #1241
I do not know if #1241 fixed this, so I'm going to leave it open for now :)
Sorry!
Yeah, IMHO adding the username to the main part of the topbar is just added clutter with no real payoff to the user. The avatar here is the glancable feedback of who is logged in, and it is nice and minimal.
My solution for what i interpreted the issue as being (not knowing your username on the main screen) should now be fixed with the above PR. So in other words, this one is fixed in my book.
I'm going to close this issue as fixed, after all I also like having just the avatar by default and if someone disagree, we can always discuss/reconsider :)
Thanks for your report!
