qemu-lite
So, I'm not sure if this is the right place/template for it, but this was the best I could find.
I'm looking to package qemu-lite which is essentially qemu + patches. This is a required package for Kata Containers. See: https://github.com/kata-containers/packaging/issues/73#issuecomment-397586987
I have filed a package review bz at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1590431 . Is it ok to go ahead with this?
Could you elaborate on why you believe you need an exception? You can package forked/patched versions of other packages as long as they don't conflict with packages already in the distribution. You don't need to ask us for permission to do that.
Ha, ack. I don't know why I was under the assumption that this needed a ticket. Anyway, closing this. Thanks a lot.

Well that was easy. But note that the requirement that your package not conflict with the regular qemu package (i.e. you must be able to install both on a system) is where the difficulty lies.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind and work with the Kata people if any issues on this. Should this ticket remain open or just that commenting reopened the ticket?
I don't know why it reopened. I don't see any reason to keep this open so I'll close it again.
