I have just discovered that the versioning guidelines were overhauled and the snapshot should use the main version with tilde and caret. This is nice, but I just found this by accident. The last time I remember and quite some time ago, there were some discussions about caret and there was some opposition. Now "suddenly" the guidelines are all about caret. This took me by surprise.
Therefore, to save me from surprises, could you please announce the changes in packaging guidelines as used to be standard not long ago? I believe that I am not the only one interested in the package guidelines evolution
It would be probably enough, if something like "git log" was sent to devel-announce once per month.
I was planning to send a summary next time something significant changes.
Currently, that would be the new Ansible Collection Packaging Guidelines and no longer requiring ExclusiveArch: %{rust_arches}.

BTW something like git log would be probably good enough these days, if the commit messages were nice and descriptive and if there was a way to filter out changes such as fixed typos.
