#1229 missing %{el} in dist-tag-conditionals documentation
Closed: invalid 2 years ago by germano. Opened 2 years ago by germano.

I would like to report that webpage
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/DistTag/#_conditionals
is missing %{el} which description should be the same of %{rhel}
Example of its usage can be found at
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/darktable/blob/rawhide/f/darktable.spec

I have talked with some other fellow packagers and I am wrong about this.
I am closing this ticket.
Best regards

%{el} is not a defined conditional on RHEL or RHEL-like distros. That's why it's not in the documentation. It's usage in the darktable spec file is a bug. 0%{?el} > 8 will always evaluate to false because it expands to 0 > 8 on all Red Hat family distros.
