#90 Request of becoming sponsor
Closed: Fixed None Opened 10 years ago by luya.

Greetings,
I am a package maintainer since Fedora 6 and would like to apply for sponsorship. On my belt are:
- 11 maintained packages
- at least five non-trivial reviewed packages: synfig, synfigstudio, ruby-icon-artist, goddard-background, juffed, gdesklets-slideshow

I deemed ready to become a sponsor after some encouragement from my fellow contributors and a cumulative experience of packaging and reviewing. Thank you for the consideration.

Well, playing devil's advocate. I tend to -1 here due:
11 packages maintained: yes
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/users/packages/luya

but:
co-maintainer on ETL, no builds by luya
echo-icon-theme, one build by luya in 2008, lots of builds by other maintainers
gdesklets ,last build from luya in 2012, serveral rebuilds by proven packagers later
gdesklets-quote-of-the-day: no builds by luya
* thewidgetfactory last build by luya in 2008 (Fedora 9!)

and I just see 8 finished reviews in total:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?bug_status=CLOSED&bug_status=ON_QA&component=Package%20Review&email1=luya%40fedoraproject.org&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=exact&list_id=1621358

Although you're meeting the requirements, I'm inclined to say: please do a more reviews, and try to maintain your packages more actively and then come back later.

gdesklets

I'm one of those, who has touched the package, because there has not been a response in bugzilla.

And again, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/925396 (AArch configure fixes) is still without response, too.

thewidgetfactory

Hmmm, no new version since 2007 (according to koji), no dependencies. It's a small program, sort of a widgets demo.
However, the https://bugzilla.redhat.com/926627 (AArch configure fixes) ticket is without response.

:-(

No +1 or -1 from me, however just for this comment:

As %configure macro is changed (rhbug 951442), mass-filed aarch64 bugs need cleanup before asking each maintainer to fix them (rhbug 922257).

Thank you for the advices, I will do.

Sorry for the lack of response. I contacted upstream about the new autoconf following the first suggestion, the second part was confusing considering this guideline https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackagingDrafts/AutoConf, I applied the patch instead. Currently, koji failed to build on rawhide because of the conflict between libpng12 and libpng: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=5823597&name=mock_output.log&offset=-4000

Built done: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=5823675

Yes, I suppose so.

Please do reapply when desired.
