I have been a package maintainer in Fedora since about Fedora Core 6 timeframe. On a number of occasions users have asked me to sponsor / mentor them into becoming a package maintainer, often to co-maintain packages with me, however, I've never requested sponsor approval status historically, hence this request.

+1 I've been working with Daniel for years on Fedora packaging and he's an absolute expert on it, so there's no problem at all with him being a sponsor.
I am honstely astonished that he's not yet a sponsor for long time.
Daniel absolutely knows what he's doing. There is no doubt from my side, he'll be a great sponsor.

Daniel is a good Fedora packager and while some things are a little odd (e.g. how libvirt stack packages are maintained) he does a fantastic job with Fedora packaging and he'd do an excellent job bringing new packagers on board. :thumbsup:
