#392 Packager rights for harrymichal and vstanek
Closed: accepted 4 years ago by tpopela. Opened 4 years ago by tpopela.

Hi,

I'm looking for packager rights for @harrymichal and @vstanek. They will work on creating the Fedora Flatpaks from the Fedora RPM packages (to accelerate our Fedora Flatpaks offerings, especially important for Silverblue). In fact, they won't be maintaining any package in Fedora, but hey need to be able to follow the Fedora Flatpaks build process. I will mentor their work.

I'll sponsor them on your behalf.

Done. Good luck with flatpaks.

Please create user pages at the wiki, so others know who you are ;)

An introduction on the devel mailing list is also nice.

Thank you Miro! I will pass the info to them!

Will they at least create the Flatpaks themselves and maintain the Flatpaks they will be creating? Or will the Flatpak advocates continue attempting to offload the work on the RPM maintainers as in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1727575 ?

That sounds misleading.

Work on Fedora, like most free software projects, happen in the open. There's nothing malicious about somebody requesting a feature, in this case a Flatpak; and the maintainer, ie. you, are free to say that you don't want to do the work yourself but will be happy to accept contributions.
