#34 New sponsor: misc
Closed: Fixed None Opened 11 years ago by misc.

I'd like to nominate myself to be a packager group sponsor

Reason :

I have done several package review since the beginning of the year ( around 60/70 at the time of writing , see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?component=Package%20Review&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=exact&email1=misc%40zarb.org&bug_status=CLOSED&bug_status=ON_QA&bug_status=ASSIGNED&list_id=862028 for a list ), for various isolated packages ( perl, ruby, C , daemon, graphical software ), and some of them being quite complex ( https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=844013 , https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=803089 , https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851279 )

I am also one of the commiters of fedora-review ( having added some checks and corrected bugs ) and of rpmlint ( albeit I didn't touch the code since a long time ), so i know fairly well the policies.

I maintain 2 very low maintainance packages ( https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/users/packages/misc ) in Fedora since a few release ( IIRC, since Fedora 12 or 13 ), but I used to be the maintainer of several packages for Mandriva and Mageia ( such as the python interpreter, for the more critical one ) since 2003, as well as packaging mentor for those distributions ( even did some real life courses about rpm packaging in 2009 )

No question about it, +1 from me.

As misc is always available to help others on packaging stuff, he's a great candidate for sponsoring.

+1

Definitely +1 from me.

Michael has been always helpful, has proven his knowledge uncountable times, and it's a great pleasure to work with him. I'm absolutely sure, he'll make a great sponsor!

A big +1 from me as well.

I'm really behind here. I see 11 positive votes and no negatives, so this passes. I have already upgraded "misc" to packager status. Since you are not a provenpackager, please be sure to make yourself comaintainer on the packages of those you sponsor if you wish to be able to access them.

Also, please consider letting people see who you are in FAS. I have no idea who "misc" is or whether she (or he) is reachable on IRC as all that information is marked as private. New packagers will be in the same situation.
