The page [1] doesn't explain what "rawhide" means, nor that there are even different SLs; It would be nice to at least link some external documentation with explanation.

Considering the current discussions [0], I wonder if we should just drop this entirely. The current system isn't really used for anything and is just unnecessary burden.

In the mean time, I've added the following note to the docs:
"Right now, this is not actively used to do anything useful, although some systems might block you from maintaining your module. Please choose a date far in the future so you're not affected. Work to fix this is in progress."
Actually, I'm closing this issue so we don't track this in multiple places.
