I don't want to block this ticket over docs, but can you help me understand where mentors fit in the ambassadors model as it should be working? I know there are wiki pages (plural) but which one best describes it? I've heard issues with mentors but rarely heard the positive story and I hope we can get that here.

@bex let's discuss at the meeting. I think the mentorship process needs to change. I think it needs to be a lot simpler, as we discussed at flock. I was tempted to just upgrade jonatoni to sponsor in FAS but I figured I should follow the process and ask for a vote since that's still the current policy AFAIK

+1 as I think she can show people how to represent the project and can help them learn to do so.

An easy +1 from me. :thumbsup: I think @jonatoni is a great role model for others and that she will be an excellent mentor.

I agree that the role of mentorship should be revisited in the context of Advocates, but we shouldn't make it a blocker here, when documentation is missing so new people coming to the project are still routed through the Ambassador on-boarding steps.
