#373 Fedora 37 Release Party - Novi Sad, Serbia
Closed: Moved a year ago by jflory7. Opened a year ago by fedorauser.

We will host Fedora 37 Release Party in University of Novi Sad. This is a great opportunity to inspire young students to use and contribute to Fedora. Also, it strengthens the existing community by bringing people together to socialize, learn, discuss and more.

I am +1 for the event

+1 from me for approving the requested $100 USD budget.

I will work on distributing swag, but it might be too close for it to arrive in time. All our swag is currently shipping from the U.S. However, we can send a larger package with the intent that there would be extra to use for a future event. Would this be acceptable?

Edit: To be clear, I will do what I can get to get it there before the deadline! But good to be prepared if it comes late or gets stuck in customs.

Hey Justin!

Yes, please proceed as you noted.
We always face issues with customs, so even if it doesn't arrive in time for this event it will be valuable for either F38 RP or for BalCCon (balccon.org) where we have had stand in the past four-five events.

You can reach out to me directly, if need be, via @FedoraUser:matrix.org

Kind regards,
Momo.

+100 for this event :) Also @jflory7 you may wanna sent extra swags (from past I was there as well and there is always a huge bunch of people and ask about Fedora, so It would be nice to have them something extra as well)

Plus I guess we also need to find a way to send swag directly from EU side (for example czech side in past It was worked like that as well)

Discussed in 2022-12-01 meeting and 2022-12-06 meeting.

This event is approved with a $100 USD budget to run on 11 December 2022. All the best on the party! Please take pictures to share back with us in the event report afterwards.

The swag order will not arrive in time for this release party, but I can send a larger order so there is some extra for any future events that happen in the region.

Hey Justin,

Yes, please do send as large order as you can.
We're planning to increase frequency of RPs and overall presence as COVID rules are no longer strict.

Please let me know if there is anything I can help with.

Dear all,

The event was very successful in my opinion. We had five presentations and around 55 attendees. :)

Hopefully, we will continue to organize them in the future. Slides and the event report are on the wiki.

@jflory7 I am a bit rusty, could you tell me where to open the reimbursement ticket? This pagure or some other one? Thanks!

@nmilosev I apologize for the long delay here. I was struggling to find the right path forward for reimbursement but I think I know what to do from here.

Since this ticket is already mirrored in the new GitLab, I am closing this ticket as moved and we will finish this conversation on GitLab. See fedora/home#6.

@fedorauser Do you have a GitLab account? If yes, could you please link it to the Fedora Account System and edit your Fedora Account information so the GitLab username is shown?

Thanks! I appreciate your patience here. Working on being faster to the call next time. :grinning:
