Hi @all
I am referring to my thread opened here:
https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/anybody-interested-in-a-fedora-hatch-germany-area-giessen/40064
https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/hatch-with-fedora-is-happening-all-over-the-world/39899/8
My idea is to plan a small event in a restraunt/bar/cafe on one day during Fedora Nest. Probably kind of Socializing Event.
Location: Giessen or Franctur Main (Hesse)
Some of you know me: 1. Andi Artz 2. FAS - andilinux Contribution to Join SIG, QA, Respins, DEI and recently started a new discussion topic about sustainibility and ecology.
Thoughts about it?
Thx @isagordillo encouraging me to open a ticket here!

I tking is a good idea, @andilinux becomes a very active member and I'm sure he can starty a good user.//contributor community on Germany
I will vote +1 but we need more details like how many people will attend , swag required, Budget, Target Audience, etc.
Hi @andilinux we discussed this in today's Mindshare meeting and we think its a great idea! As mentioned in the last comment, could you provide some more details? I would also suggest putting this event before or after Nest- even by 1 day- that way people aren't pulled away from the virtual Nest event.
Here is the template for Advocate requests, though you've answered a couple of these already, it will be useful to have all in one place :) 1. What is the event and why should Fedora do it? 2. Event Date 3. Event Location 4. Swag needs (and why) 5. Budget needs (subject to the Advocate limit) 6. Target Audience 7. Full Name 8. FAS ID*
Hi @riecatnor Well, the idea of the Fedora Nest Hatch would be picking 1 day which doesn't affect the virtual Nest event much.
I have still talks about some local LGBTQ groups in my area. Unfortunatly no reply yet.
IMO, If you wanna do the event same day in nest time, Interaction can be lower, plus we wanna talk each other not looking the screen and listening nest event. Also try to clarify some of the part you said "waiting for reply" and try make your decisions clearer. I'm still not looking highly for doing the hatch same time at nest, you can encourage people to show up in nest in their time. That's just my opinion but If you have something better. please be my guess tell us.
Thank you.
Hi @andilinux thank you for the additional info! The Mindshare Committee discussed this in our weekly meeting, and we are still of the same opinion.. we love the idea of a Fedora meetup in Germany around Nest, though we think it should be scheduled before or after Nest, not during. Nest is a virtual event, and we want folks to be interacting on the virtual event platform. To participate in a meetup, there is travel back and forth to the actual venue, and the desire to focus on the people in front of you (and rightly so!).
What do you think about scheduling it for the day after Nest or even the weekend after if Friday or Saturday is a preferable day? The talks will be available for replay on the Nest event in Hopin at that time, so if you want to watch some talks as a group, that would be doable :) Let us know what you think
Hi @andilinux checking in on this request. Would you like to pursue organizing this event or maybe close this one out and try for a Release Party later on in 2022? :)
HI @andilinux hope you are doing okay. We are going to close this request as stale as it was related to Nest 2022. If you would like to pursue organizing an event in the future, please open a new ticket :) Thanks!
