#25 Update / migrate FAMA wiki page to docs
Closed: Stale 2 years ago by till. Opened 5 years ago by jflory7.

Summary

Update the content of Fedora Ambassador Membership Verification (FAMA) wiki page, migrate to docs site

Background

The role and purpose of FAMA is not well-defined. The existing documentation about the responsibilities, tasks, and delegation of FAMA administrators is little or non-existent. However, FAMA holds enough recognition to hold the two existing Ambassador seats on the Mindshare Committee.

Therefore, it is important to transparently clarify how FAMA administrators are selected, what their responsibilities are, and what their role in the present-day (or to-be-redefined) Ambassadors program is.

Details

I see this ticket split into two parts:

  1. Updating existing content to be accurate / correct
  2. Finding the right place to "host" the source files for docs, migrate wiki page to docs site

The hard part is updating the existing content, but this is also not a technical blocker. This means we can discuss and better define the purpose and delegation of FAMA today. Part of this can be info-gathering from the two FAMA reps, @nb and @robyduck (and possibly alums of FAMA, such as @tuanta or @ankursinha). In the short-term, these changes can be reflected in the wiki.

Later, once the content is better developed and the documentation deployment pipeline is stabilized, we can work on finding the right place to "host" the source files for a Fedora Docs version of this content (i.e. what repo to put them in and who is responsible for maintaining them). Once the content is migrated, a new part of the sub-projects docs site can be added for FAMA.

Outcome

Better understanding of FAMA's role and purpose, how the administrators are selected / elected, and why they are recognized as the two Ambassador seats on Mindshare Committee

See this comment in mindshare#28 for some additional context in a previous meeting.

I am not volunteering him, but I believe @nb has indicated he can work on this after some of the ambassador stuff.

It seems that this can be handled as part of the revamp and a separate ticket is not necessary. Also, there was no recent activity here, therefore I close this ticket.
