#213 Creating a twitter account for NeuroFedora
Closed: Complete 3 years ago by riecatnor. Opened 3 years ago by ankursinha.

Hello,

The NeuroFedora team wanted to create a twitter account to disseminate NeuroFedora related updates. I wasn't sure if I needed to ask permission, but thought better to check first:

  • we'll use the NeuroFedora logo for the account: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/neurofedora/overview/
  • the e-mail in use will be the neuro-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org private e-mail list. (Only members of the neuro-sig packager group are able to subscribe to this list, since it is used for bugzilla notifications which may include CVEs and other security related information.)
  • a few of the NeuroFedora team members will share the credentials, and so will someone from the Mindshare/Marketing teams who is meant to keep track of Fedora related social media?

Is there anything else I need to keep in mind before setting this up please?

Sounds great. I think if the NeuroFedoraSIG follows the rules of the "Community sites" we don't have any problem.

Maybe We can add it to "Fedora community-managed" section.

For me +1 to NeuroFedora SIG twitter account

+1 this will keep the SIG more visible to outside

Regards.,

For me +1 to NeuroFedora SIG twitter account 😄

I'm +1 to it, Love the active work people are doing in NeuroFedora :)

+1 to this. Two thoughts:
- It would be nice to see a plan/goal of how Neuro Fedora would like to post. Say, once or twice a week, etc. Something documented and standardized so that newcomers or any team member can take up the task of maintenance.
- Once set up, please send the login credentials to mnordin@redhat.com so I can keep them on record. This is in case we need to "fire fight" any issues on there, if the account gets hacked etc, and I need to remove something right away.

Most of the posts will be sharing our updates:

  • abc tool is now available in NeuroFedora
  • sharing a new post from the blog,

We currently share things using #NeuroFedora, but then we end up @fedora each time. The content will remain pretty much the same, but having an account lets us interact with the target audience better.

Will do :)

The account is now live at: https://twitter.com/NeuroFedora

Initial twitter templates have been added to our SOPs:

@riecatnor : should I e-mail the credentials to you in a GPG encrypted e-mail?

Added it here, and updated all the NeuroFedora bits (docs + blog)

Anything else I've missed?

@ankursinha looks good to me! Yes, please send the credentials. Thanks

Would you have a GPG key I can use to encrypt the e-mail, or should I just use plain e-mail?
