#165 Funding Request: Travel for DevConf CZ (January 2020)
Closed: Complete by riecatnor. Opened by weirdwiz.

Hi,
I have proposed for a talk at DevConf CZ 2020, would love to get the travel funding for the conference, if the talk gets accepted.

1. What is the event and why should Fedora do it?

The talk is called "Generate seccomp profiles for containers using bpf", the talk is regarding the project I built with my mentors during the Google Summer of Code, as a Fedora student. The talk is centered around podman and oci-seccomp-bpf-hook both the tools helps the Fedora and the container tools community increase the security levels of their containers.

2. Event Date: 24 Jan 2020 - 27 Jan 2020

3. Event Location: Brno, Czech Republic

4. Budget needs

The costs I'm requesting from Mindshare are for my flights from New Delhi to Vienna, and a bus from Vienna to Brno (roundtrip), and accommodation for the stay. The cost approximated for the flight from skyscanner.com is 555 - 560 USD, the bus would cost around 35 USD.

The total estimated cost would be around 595-600 USD.

5. Target Audience

The talk's target audience are people who are interested in securing their container workloads, and people interested in the development and working of the tool.

6. Full Name: Divyansh Kamboj

7. FAS ID: weirdwiz

Thanks!

@weirdwiz you were a GSoC student this year and your work impacts the container security landscape. I believe your work will help Fedora and other developers attending DevConf. I am a +1 to this ticket. All the best!

Note to mindshare members: As this is a > $1000 event, this ticket will need a to be opened with 3 +1s and 0 -1s for at least 11 days. [https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/mindshare-committee/medium-events/]

The 11 days ends on 15th November

@weirdwiz Devconf will give you a stay, can you reduce the accommodation amount? :)

This budget is approved
@weirdwiz you can start booking your travels
