How will this project benefit Fedora
The Zine project is a new initiative within Fedora started by our last Outreachy design intern. The Zine will serve many purposes for our community. It will act as a showcase and point of recognition for the variety of work that is being done within Fedora. The Zine will provide engagement with the community that is non-coding related, instead focused on personal expression and creativity. Once completed, the Zine will be printed and used for swag shipments and events in the future.

Sample plan of work for the 12 week internship. What are milestones the
intern should be hitting? This doesn't need to be incredibly detailed and
can change later but there needs to be a general breakdown of tasks.

- Week 1: Research tech zines and zines in general. Organize existing artwork submitted for the Zine. Write a blog post for Community Blog introducing themselves and to send out another call for art.
- Week 2: Create a layout template for Zine pages based on printing specs. Organize incoming artwork.
- Week 3: Art/graphic creation and Zine page creation. Blog post to Community Blog with art/pages.
- Week 4: Art/graphic creation and Zine page creation, as well as iterations. Focus on cover art.

- Week 6: Process incoming artwork. Art/graphic creation and Zine page creation, as well as iterations.
- Week 7: Create first physical mockup. Continue iterations on Zine pages. Blog post to Community Blog with pages and updates.
- Week 8: Make changes based on mockup. Iterations on designs. Create a second physical mockup.
- Week 9: Make changes based on the second mockup. Create a basic wiki page for the Zine. Begin to develop a process and cadence for the Zine. Blog post to Community Blog with updates.
- Week 10: Send design to mentor to get a sample printed. Create a digital copy of the Zine. Develop onboarding documentation and continue work on wiki. Upload Zine pages to wiki.
- Week 11: Analyze physical mockup, and make appropriate changes if needed. Blog post to Community Blog with final version of the digital Zine. Draft posts for circulation on Fedora’s social media platforms and send to the mentor to publish.
- Week 12: Send final file to mentor for printing. Finalize and document process, cadence, and onboarding documentation and make sure the wiki is up to date with this info.
