#101 Putting myself forward to be a General Mentor for GSOC
Closed: fixed 2 years ago by siddharthvipul1. Opened 3 years ago by t0xic0der.

I am interested to put myself forward to be a general mentor for this year's GSOC.

I have been a part of Fedora for the last ten months and have been mostly working with onboarding newcomers, fixing and modernizing websites, running classrooms and writing documentations.

Being well-versed with building web applications with both dynamic-periodic and dynamic-realtime communication models with good development practices, I would be able to help with guiding folks in both technical and non-technical ways - keeping a note that the proposal(s) selected are of this nature.

I am willing to assist with my time and knowledge in places where my skills can be put to use.

(Thanks @mobrien for your format and sorry for stealing it )

Thank you @t0xic0der!
We will be glad to get all the help :)
One of the important task I see is the need of constant communication between mentors+mentees <-> community. Usually it would be via regular updates on community blog, would you be interested in taking care of this aspect for GSoC?
syncing with interns, syncing with mentors if needed and you can also organize social hours

Yes, Vipul. I'd be able to do that.

Fedora wasn't approved as a mentoring organization this year.
@t0xic0der would you be interested in helping with outreachy?
we have a bunch of things we can do there :)

Sure thing, Vipul.

I would be glad to help with Outreachy.
