Investigating a drop of performances when running mdapi in OpenShift I found out that performance after this commit are much worst (https://pagure.io/mdapi/c/2e5b04dc45138192b34f6ea39cbed0023d716f9a?branch=master).

The new lock file introduced must be blocking the thread, we need to find a way to get this work in an async way.
