Using the term 'child tag' here reads wrong to me, even though I see why you have done so.

It makes it sound like the tag to be operated on needs to be a child tag already, or otherwise needs to be in a special category.

I've edited the text slightly to clarify what "child" means. Does that help?

As I was implementing tag inheritance in koji-ansible, I ended up using the terms "child" and "parent" so it's easy to tell the two apart.
