#1964 What to use instead of mash?
Closed: Fixed 3 years ago by mikem. Opened 4 years ago by enteropia.

There's no mash for Fedora31, patching mash 0.6.19 is hopeless (it seems to support YUM only anyway).

What may I use instead of it? Shoul I write my own script to generate RPM repository for my organization or is there any clever tool?

pungi is the replacement. Or use dist-repo functionality from koji.

This came up a while back with another new user in #koji on Freenode. I updated the README in #1326 . I wonder if it's a common problem for new users.

@enteropia , as a new user your feedback is valuable. Is there some other area in the documentation that recommended mash to you? Is there any place in particular that you would have expected to find information about this? How can we make this easier for new Koji admins?

@ktdreyer

My point of view is not as a completely new admin, because I inherited an older version of Koji and was forced to upgrade it in order to generate CentOS 8 packages. That's why I was so focused on mash instead of looking for any new way of generating repositories. If there was a chapter titled "exporting repositories" (or similar) in documentation contents, somewhere near chapter about image building and pungi mentioned in "Koji utilities" with a hint to dist-repo command, I would probably came to right solution earlier.
