While I was able to add rooms to the Fedora space, I was not able to add rooms to these sub-spaces. When adding a room from a sub-space, I was given a message saying I do not have permission to add rooms to this space.
I ran into this when I was migrating miscellaneous rooms from :matrix.org that were not re-created in the new Fedora space (like Mentored Projects, Summer Coding, and Outreachy). I wanted to classify them further than the main Fedora space but I was unable to.

I think I am already there! They were automatically joined when I set up my Fedora Matrix account. My Matrix ID is jflory7:fedora.im.
