#22 #fedora-zh migration from freenode to libera
Closed a year ago by kevin. Opened a year ago by alick.

Hi,

We'd like to migrate the channel flags, banlists, and ops/mods settings from the Freenode channel to the Libera Chat channel. Topic is specific to freenode, so no migration requested. We will set up new topic later.

The new channel is there on libera, but lacks ChanServ and zodbot. I'd like to have fedbot as well although we did not have it on freenode channel.

Thanks!

We can get this setup, but note: we do not want to migrate ops... we have no way to tell if everyone on the old list on freenode has registered the same account yet on libera. If not, someone could come along and register one of them and get access. ;( So, instead we will just add you and you can in turn add (or ask us to) ops as you find they have registered on libera.

On zodbot/fedbot we can add them, but do you use them? They were idling in a lot of channels on freenode where they never were used. :)

ok, should be set. You have access and can add ops as you like. Let us know if you run into any issues...

I added zodbot, let me know if you need fedbot or don't need zodbot or whatever.

Thanks kevin a lot!

As for zodbot, I do see ppl occasionally use .fasinfo etc.

For fedbot, I'd expect it'll also be useful for the flood control etc. Historically we did get spam/flood and we restricted voice to registered nicks only on freenode.

ok, I am not sure it's setup to do flood control in any channels except #fedora. ;(

Let us know if you need it and we can work on getting it setup for that...

Ok I see. I guess we're ok for now. We will see if we need it in the future.
