#56 Provide instructions for subsidized people how airline & hotel costs work
Closed: Fixed None Opened 13 years ago by rbergero.

I got a question from one of our awesome attendees on "how to book your hotel when you are getting a subsidy." I wasn't sure of the answer. If you are getting your hotel subsidized, who books the hotel? How does payment work out? How does this work when you have a roommate?

I think it would be helpful to have this information somewhere on the wiki for (a) hotel subsidies, and (b) airline tickets. Maybe some information about the timeline, if they pay for it themselves when they should expect to be reimbursed, etc.

I added this:

Read over it, and tell me whether there are other specific questions you would have that we could answer there. Feel free to link to this text on the FUDCon Tempe wiki pages or elsewhere. (I don't recommend duplicating it, so that we can maintain it in one place rather than many.)

Robyn, does this change and my recent blog entry fix this issue? If not, can you give me a specific task you'd like to see finished, in order to close the ticket?

I think the only other detail we could add is for people who are having their airline tickets purchased - what is a reasonable timeline or date by which they should expect to be contacted about their airfare, or alternately, is there someone they need to contact directly to make sure it happens and do they need to do that by a certain date? Just trying to make things as clear as we can, if for no other reason than to avoid people panicing about if they are following procedure correctly (thus avoiding lots of extra email for us, collectively :D).

Thanks for helping on this. :)

Added!

Closing this ticket -- but if there's still something missing, feel free to reopen and burst my bubble! ;-)
