#48 Talk to Google about sponsorship at Ohio Linux Fest
Closed: Fixed None Opened 13 years ago by pfrields.

Robyn and Paul will talk to someone present from Google at the Ohio Linux Fest event October 10-12. They would like to bring the prospectus information, if possible, or at least some ideas for line items that could use sponsorship. One of the best candidates for this is the cost of bandwidth ($2500) at the hotel.

Cat @GOOG is the right person to talk to, according to people to whom ke4qqq spoke at OLF. Robyn will reach out to her once our prospectus is finished.

I'm going to go ahead and email Cat and talk to her a bit, and see what she'd need in terms of a prospectus.

Yargh! Catching up. ke4qqq gave me a nice email introduction to Cat, and I followed up with an email. Waiting to hear back.

Cat responded to Robyn's email and suggested that she'd be happy to make up to 2k available. There are issues around POs and the like that will need to be sorted.

The easiest way to handle this would probably be for Cat to agree to send the $2K to ASU catering to pay a portion of our catering bill. We would, of course, give due credit and public recognition to Google for helping to support our event!

I've emailed colleen at ASU about the catering situation and if that is possible. I will update when i hear something back.

This sponsorship was attained, thanks to Robyn and Cat. AIUI the catering is to be taken care of as above, correct? If so, ready to close this one!
