#409 Funding request for Jiri Eischmann
Closed: Invalid None Opened 11 years ago by eischmann.

Please set the "Component" below to the correct event for your request.

Tell us the following:

  • What do you need covered? (Please estimate the costs in USD: hotel $X, travel $Y.)
I need to cover airfare from the Czech Republic to Kansas City. The tickets are now between $830-930.

  • If we cannot provide a full subsidy, will a partial subsidy be helpful? (Yes/No?)
No, since breaking down airfare is not much possible.

  • If Yes, specify the minimum amount you need covered to facilitate your attendance.

  • What will you accomplish by being at FUDCon? (Please be as specific as possible, since this is the most important factor in granting requests.)
    I'd like to:

  • be part of discussion about new FUDCons arrangements.
  • meet FAmSCo members from NA to discuss long-term problems in our agenda.
  • discuss financial matters in Fedora Project with Robyn Bergeron and Ruth Suehle since it didn't fully happen at FUDCon in Paris.
  • be part of other ambassadors and marketing meetings.
  • bring Fedora caps we produced for FAm NA to avoid shipping costs and problem with customs.

  • If you are requesting airfare, include complete flight information such as flight numbers, desired departure and arrival airports, and times. Also let us know if you have specific time restrictions.
I'd like to fly together with Jaroslav Reznik, so this depends on what flight he has been bought. But if necessary, I'm willing to take the cheapest flight available.
    Currently it's:
    Vienna-Washington-Kansas City, departure 10:25am, Jan 17th.
    Kansas City-Washington-Vienna, departure 12:18pm, Jan 21st.

  • Do you need a visa or other official processing before you can attend FUDCon? If so, approximately how long does that processing take?
    No, I'll travel on ESTA.

  • Include any additional, relevant information.

Washington (IAD)-Vídeň (VIE) 17:50-08:45, UA 6712[[BR]]
Price: $1012

I prefer the latter one because there is more time between the flights and immigration sometimes takes long. All other flights have too short times to change planes or arrive too later (after 11pm).

I'm not asking for sponsoring lodging because that's something I can cover from my budget if I can share a room and costs with someone else. Otherwise I'd probably book a room in nearby Best Western which is cheaper.

FYI - this flight is now booked, the total cost was $992. It is the UA flight going out of VIE that you indicated as preferable above. Please check your mail and ensure that you received the confirmation as well as confirming that everything is correct - I have 24 hours to fix it if it is not.

-Robyn

I've received the confirmation email and all seems to be correct. Thank you very much for granting the sponsorship and booking the flight!

Just a note here that Jiri is rooming with Dennis Gilmore.

This ticket is being closed because the FUDCon event to which it applies already happened. If this is an error, please accept my apologies, and feel free to reopen the ticket.
