It would more convenient if you could book for flight ticket and also the accommodation (as per organizers choice). cost of travel is around 300USD

If we cannot provide a full subsidy, will a partial subsidy be helpful? (Yes/No)

If Yes, specify the minimum amount you need covered to facilitate your attendance.
What will you accomplish by being at FUDCon? (Please be as specific as possible, since this is the most important factor in granting requests.)

I proposed talk on 'Approaching the community'. I hope to share my experience on the Hanthana Linux project (www.hanthana.org), which is a Fedora remix has been deployed in more than 300 PCs in 12 school labs with the collaboration with Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka.

I will be coding and packaging for python based solution for Sinhala font convertion (none Unicode to Unicode)

If you are requesting airfare, include complete flight information such as flight numbers, desired departure and arrival airports, and times. Also let us know if you have specific time restrictions.

3rd Thursday from Colombo
UL141, Colombo (Time 00:01) to Mumbai (Time 02:25), 9W0202 Mumbai (09:55)to Pune (10:30)

Leaving on 7th from Pune
departs 9W0102 Pune (17.40) to Mumbai (18.20), UL142, Mumbai to Colombo

Do you need a visa or other official processing before you can attend FUDCon? If so, approximately how long does that processing take?

Yes, I have to apply for the visiting VISA and it might take maximum of 5 working days to process. A letter from the organizer will help me to ease the VISA request process.

We're arranging cabs for Mumbai-Pune transit as that's much cheaper than flight. Please update your travel requirement accordingly.

Me and snavin is from the same destination so that we can arrive on the same carrier (Sri Lankan), Colombo to Mumbai then taxi service to Pune.

Sure! cab services from Mumbai to Pune would be ok for me.
Since we both from Sri Lanka we can share a cab from Mumbai to Pune.

There is a special pricing for Sri Lankan tickets on these days. ( we have to purchase the ticket immediately). Just think about that as well.

I am not sure whether I can apply for conference VISA but Visiting VISA.

I TOURIST VISA (T):

· It is non-extendable and non – convertible to other types of visas and its misuse would entail deportation by Indian authorities. It may also entail denial of visa by the .Mission.

· Proof of financial solvency and proof of confirmed return tickets may be sought in some cases.

VII CONFERENCE VISA (C)

· Conference Visas are given to foreign delegates to International conferences/seminars/workshops/meetings/symposia held by Government bodies, International Organizations , Public sector units and NGO’s.

· The conferences, etc. should have been cleared by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) , Government of India . It is the responsibility of the Organizers to obtain clearances through the nodal ministries from MHA and MEA before the sending the invitation letters to the foreign participants.

· The applicants for the conference visa should produce the invitation letters at the time of application.

· Applicants are advised to apply well in advance and ensure that the organizers who are inviting by them have obtained necessary approval from the MHA & MEA, Government of India .
