Go to permissions in UI. Select change_password permission. Observe several popup messages.

We can remove the samba ones easily, passwordhistory I'm not so sure about.

Attachment deals with the issues of reporting the errors. With this patch, the UI no longer reports errors, and the attributes get passed on through. No need to remove the attrs.
