#7599 Leading / trailing white spaces in password are disallowed
Closed: fixed 4 months ago by abbra. Opened 2 years ago by frenaud.

Ticket was cloned from Red Hat Bugzilla: Bug 1593745

Please note that this Bug is private and may not be accessible as it contains confidential Red Hat customer information.

Issue:
IdM appears to not allow for leading/trailing spaces in password. We integrate
with a password management system that does allow for leading/trailing spaces
therefore, when an attempt to set the password enters our systems, IdM
disallows the request.

Reproducer:

[root@ipa ~]# ipa user-mod cpu --password
Password: "hemant " <=======add blank space
Enter Password again to verify: "hemant "
ipa: ERROR: invalid 'password': Leading and trailing spaces are not allowed
[root@ipa ~]#
