#7297 Feature/enhance Sudo options should be more like Sudo Commands in the UI
Opened 6 years ago by accidentallythecable. Modified 6 years ago

Request for enhancement

As LDAP Admin , I want to change Sudo Rule Options to be similar to Sudo Command listings so that I dont have to copy / paste or manually type 4 rules for every Sudo rule.

Issue

Sudo Rule in UI allows selecting of specific options, however, adding them doesnt allow you to select from a defined list, you must type them in. This becomes cumbersome when working with multiple Sudo Rules.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Login via UI
  2. Policy -> Sudo -> Sudo Rules
  3. Modify Sudo Rule options by Adding a new rule

This will need to be done in conjunction with the SSSD as they need to read and enforce the sudo rules. They believe this is a reasonable RFE and should be straightforward.

The IPA team will create a design page with a proposed layout of the LDAP data.

The designer will need to take care in considering how existing data will be handled, particularly for upgrades. Typically this is an all-or-nothing: you can have either a per-rule defined set of options or use a pre-canned group of options.

It will need to be documented that older SSSD clients will not understand these rules.
